DNA-Shaped Suspension Bridge Inspired by Olympic Games’ Five Rings

The bridge will be completed on time for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and Stemia.

The San Shan Bridge is inspired by the combination of the Olympic emblem, its five rings, and the landscape around the association around Jogalpal. Depending on the view of the bridge, visitors have a versatile experience of the structure. The main structure of the bridge resembles a series of Olympic rings, which are connected at the highest and lowest points. "Entering the rings on the way to the Olympics should be seen as a contextual symbol of the Games." The English translation of "San Shan" is three mountain ranges, one of which describes the shape of a bridge. Moreover, from the top, the bridge can be seen connecting the two banks of the Joy River with double spirals.

The structural design of the bridge relies on spiral tubes of rotating shields, says co-founder Dr Pencher, co-founder Dr Chers, who said six 300-foot-long steel rings are angled to each other. The Bihathanging Bar can be divided into a public area with traffic and pedestrians.

Brecht says he wants to design the San Shan Bridge as a combination of beauty and efficiency. “All you see is a clean temple,” says Brecht. "There is sincerity in the future."
